Original Notes
Looking at these literal game plans from last summer, I can see how having a full concept led me to finish my first game, and so quickly. There are many things I wanted to include that I let go--there are still remnants of some of those ideas in my icon set.
Usually, the reason something changed or couldn't happen came down to it not being cohesive with the rest of the game. While it helped me keep the game simple, and so maybe it helped me complete the project, settling on RPG Maker MZ did also mean settling for less conceptually, and I'm still considering remaking it using other means (namely GB Studio but I would need to do all the music covers myself, or maybe I could find MOD files made by others). Working with RPG Maker, I ended up using a few plugins but decided against the one I got for projectiles... I wanted this to remain a soothing experience, and bumping into townspeople is still jarring but I'm glad they don't shoot death rays out of their eyes in passing. At the same time, I'm working on figuring out how to use it to throw glitter so you can transform Olivia into the caticorn that way.
